A Local's Guide To Cooper's Rock State Forest, WV
Cooper's Rock State Forest is a gorgeous area with many activities to offer! Located outside of Morgantown, West Virginia, it's easy to find.
The most popular attraction is Cooper's Rock Overlook. A short paved walkway will take you from the parking lot to the overlook.
It's worth the visit during all 4 seasons! To see picture proof, watch this video, too!
Especially on the winter! The snow is gorgeous and you can try your hand at cross country skiing or sledding in designated areas.
The road is closed to most traffic, but you can park near the entrance and spend a day here!
While the overlook is popular, the underlook is also pretty cool. You can even climb at designated areas!
You can have fun without hiking, but the forest has fifty miles of trails to explore!
Some of the trails feature fun landmarks, like this old iron furnace on the Henry Clay trail.
Or Raven's Rock Overlook, which is gorgeous at golden hour! For more photos, watch my video about the trail.
Whether you have a day or all year, you'll be able to find a fun activity at Cooper's Rock. Grab your best friend and head that way!
