A Quick Guide To Capitol Reef NP
Visit the old settlement area of Fruita. This is a lush haven with an orchard
1
In the warmer months you can pick your own fruit and buy baked goods from the store here
Check out the Cassidy Arch hike for amazing views and this natural arch
2
This hike will take you a few hours and is 3.1 miles round trip
The Capitol Gorge hike takes you through canyons and these unique water pools
3
Even the drive to get to the trailhead of this hike is worth doing. You’re driving through a canyon of red rock!
Hickman Natural Bridge is another unreal looking bridge with gorgeous views along the hike
4
It’s an easy 2 mile round trip hike with the best payoff. Pack lots of water
The Chimney Rock trail was one of my favourite hikes while here
5
It’s a pretty short but steep hike. Try going at sunset or sunrise to see the red of the rocks
6
Take your time and drive the Scenic Road. There’s loads of beautiful rock formations and pull-overs to stop at
7
If you have a 4x4 or all wheel drive car, you can take many of the dirt roads and explore further. This is my plan for next time!
