There are so many things to do in NYC, but this is what I recommend you do if you only have a weekend (once things return to normal)
Day 1: Check off the touristy places in Lower Manhattan
Visit the Statue of Liberty! Book an early tour of the Statue of Liberty. Book at least 3 months in advance to access the crown!
Your Statue of Liberty tour will also include Ellis Island. Book a hard hat tour for a behind the scenes look at other buildings on Ellis Island
Grab lunch at Fraunces Tavern. It is the oldest standing structure in Manhattan dating back to 1719. George Washington has had meetings here!
Pay respects at the 9/11 memorial and museum. A must visit while in NYC. The museum is $26 or free for active/retired military
Visit some other staples such as Wall Street, the Charging Bull, and the Brooklyn Bridge if you have time!
End night at a local pub (I recommend McSorley’s Old Ale House) then a comedy show, you’ll never know who you’ll see (like Ben Bailey from Cash Cab)!
Day 2: Explore Midtown
Walk or shop your way down 5th Avenue
Visit Central Park, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, or any other of your must sees!
Have dinner near Times Square, but at a local spot! I recommend Don Antonio for delicious Italian Pizza!
Then go to a Broadway show! You can buy tickets day of through TKTS or enter Broadway lotteries for discounted tickets!
End the night by going up the Empire State Building or going to a rooftop bar. If going to a rooftop bar I recommend 230 Fifth and get their hot cocoa
It’ll be a busy weekend but you’ll definitely enjoy your time in NYC!
