A Winged Heart
Make templates, I have provided 3 sizes.
I trace around shapes, considering saving material. The Papermate pencil is a perfect tool.
I love these Papermate pencils, erases easily. If I want a clean edge this helps! You
I work over white paper so I can see lines. No special scissors necessary, just a pair that you like
Your supplies for coloring Shrinkets- *PDF has more information.
I often outline a design in a fine point Sharpie marker before coloring.
I continue to add color, often using both sides of Shrinket for effect.
This material is translucent, it is a play on light and layers, use both sides!
I recommend three holes, makes sewing easier.
In a box heat until shrunk. Pick up, place in mold considering which side you want to be the outside
Reheat until soft, indent where the hearts shoulder will rest.
You want to shape it like a taco first, with both tips rising, which can take a couple of heatings.
I ricochet heat to gently heat the tip so I can create a graceful curve.
Curve is a bit tricky as the tip cools more quickly than the base, keep reheating till satisfied.
Reheat tail to curve. I cut a strip of silicone rubber to help hold closed and protect my fingers.
Your holes more than likely shrunk shut. Using a drill and the divots from punching, re open.
As you are shrinking you will be wanting to customize fit to the shoulder of your heart. Do it hot.
There are many ways to finish the tip on these, I include two possibilities here.
Embellishing possibilities, bead variety, needles and thread. *more info in PDF.
I sew wings on using a chosen bead to hold. 3 holes makes this work well to get tension necessary.
With size 15 seed beads I sew seeds into felt, concentrating more at the tip and dispersing outward.
Choices in closures had me string a loop of desired length, reinforce it, tie a surgeons knot. *
Some examples and samples. *Indicates more detailed info on PDF.❤️
Enjoy! You can always fix or integrate ‘rogue’ choices that send you down a new street!
