Thrift store find. In good condition but missing a top. Let’s add a new top to the piece!
1
I painted the base in a farmhouse look. Measured the top and added a 1/2 inch on each side and front
2
I found a piece of wood and had the lumber store cut it to size.
3
Lay the lumber on the ground and flip the furniture on top. Center the edges.
4
I will drill from the inside down onto the new top.
5
Drill down the base of the cabinet into the new wood top.
6
Sand edges smooth. Wipe and prepare for stain.
7
Supplies needed: No Pain Gel Stain in Walnut, applicator pads and a rubber glove.
8
Apply the No Pain Gel Stain in the direction of the wood grain. Wipe evenly.
9
Don’t forget the edges. And under the edge.
10
Rich and beautiful.
11
Apply a Clear Coat. I used Satin & a medium flat brush.
12
Apply as many coats of protection as you like.
13
Stunning new top to a farmhouse buffet.
