Authentic Style Kung-Pao Chicken

You’ll need chicken thighs, garlic, scallions, soy, sugar, Szechuan peppercorns, peanuts, salt...

... dice your chicken & add to a bowl with cornstarch...

... soy & Chinese cooking wine. Mix. This is your marinade! Let sit 15 minutes.

Dice the scallion. Save the scallion greens for garnish!

Add oil to a skillet & get piping hot! Add the garlic, some sambal, chili flakes & peppercorns. Mix!

Let cook for 30 seconds, flavoring the oil. Stir. Add the white part of the chopped scallions.

Push the aromatics to the side & add the chicken. Let sear 30 seconds & then flip. Repeat to sear.

Add a mix of soy sauce, Chinese cooking wine, black vinegar, sugar, sesame oil & salt. Stir.

Cook the chicken fully & add your unsalted roasted peanuts. Cook for 30 seconds while stirring.

Serve over steamed white rice! This dish is also keto friendly at 8g carbs per serving.
