Avarakkai Sambhar (Indian Flat Beans Sambhar)
What you'll need
1 tsp
Gingelly Oil (Preferably)
1 tsp
Black Mustard Seeds
1/2 tsp
Fenugreek Seeds
1 Nos
1 Green Chilli
Asafoetida
Flat Beans
Tamarind
1/2 tbsp
Salt
2 ladles
Toor Dal
1/2 Bunch Of Fresh Coriander
Curry Leaves
1 tsp
Sambhar Powder
1 tsp
Turmeric Powder
I am making Avarakkai Sambhar for lunch

Add 1 tsp oil and add 1 tsp mustard, allow it to crackle!

Add 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds and temper!

Add flat beans to the temper and 1 green chilli and saute well!

Add 1 tsp sambhar powder!

Add 1 tsp turmeric powder and saute well!

Mix well! Smells divine!

Add 1 cup water and boil the flats beans along with the sambhar powder!

The beans have become soft and tender!

Add marinated tamarind in salt to the pan!

The tamarind water has boiled well! Allow the tamarind flavour to receed before adding toor dal(pulses)

Add 2 ladle toor dal to the tamarind mix

Our sambhar is almost ready! Greens and pulses makes for a great healthy lunch!
