8 Beautiful Places To Hike Near Asheville, NC
Craggy Gardens - Short trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway with 360 degree views.
Linville Gorge - Multiple trails of varying difficulty. Hike to the falls, up to mountain view’s, or down to the river.
Popular trails are the Upper Falls and Wiseman’s View. For a challenge try Babel Tower.
Catawba Falls - This is a short, shady hike right off Hwy 40. You cross multiple creeks so wear water shoes or waterproof boots.
This trail is very crowded in the summer so either come early on a weekend or go during the week.
Chimney Rock - There is a fee to visit this state park but there are multiple trails that you can easily do in a morning.
You’ll see Lake Lure from the top of Chimney Rock. Head to Burntshirt Vineyards or Hickory Nut Brewery for a well-deserved drink afterwards.
Crabtree Falls - This is a hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway that’s easy in but gets more difficult on the way out.
Brevard- Transylvania County is known as the Land of Waterfalls. This one is Moore Cove Falls and the trail is less than a mile.
Looking Glass Falls is just inside of Pisgah National Forest coming from Brevard and it’s right beside the road and down a few stairs.
DuPont State Forest - You’ll see 3 different waterfalls on a 3 mile loop hike. High Falls is the first from the Visitor’s Center.
Triple Falls was featured in the movie The Hunger Games.
Rough Ridge - Another off the Blue Ridge Parkway this one offers sweeping vistas and the perfect view of Grandfather Mountain.
