Hi all! In this jumprope I am going to share some beginner skipping tips๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป Instagram: @miajumprope ๐Ÿ˜

1. Use a mat!! Why? It protects your joints, can prevent shin splints, protects your rope ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ฏ

2. Get some comfy trainers! Why? To support your ankles, cushion jumping + for comfort๐Ÿ˜ƒ

3. Rope length! I have mine come to near my armpits. This allows me to skip with no excess rope๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

This length helps me to perform skipping more efficiently, without excess rope getting in the way๐Ÿ”‹

I also use 2 knots either side of the rope to get a better feedback of the rope when skipping ๐Ÿ’ฅ

4. Try to stay light on your feet with a relaxed posture, and arms tucked near your sides ๐Ÿ˜

This is a closer look at the footwork, and arm placement. Arms by my side, staying on my toes ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Side angle: This is the skipping boxer step, my form is relaxed & pushing down with forearms๐Ÿ‘Œ

5. Try to avoid landing on your heels, and having your arms too wide. Makes movement less efficient๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ

Try to avoid being flat footed, whilst bouncing your neck forward โŒ

6. Take things slow, practice regularly with repetition and rest๐Ÿ˜Ž Enjoy!๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป
