Gather your clay and roll it into a thick tube.

Press your clay together at the top and gently press the three strips onto your work surface.

Braid away!

Trim your braid to equal lengths. I cut 2.5 inch pieces.

Cut your toilet roll and resize it to be about 1 inch around. Secure with washi tape.

Pinch the ends of your braid lightly. Wrap the braid around your tube and press lightly.

Bake according to the clay package’s instructions. I baked for 45 minutes at 275°F.

When your clay cools, gently sand the ends of your braid.
