Prepare the boba (tapioca pearls). This should take 5 minutes.

Make the black tea: heat the water (195 degrees F)

Steep the black tea (not longer than 5 minutes for dark, strong tea) Make sure it’s covered as it steeps!

Use the tea hot or chilled in the fridge to make it cold or pour it hot over ice. The tea can also be prepared ahead of time.

Put the tapioca pearls (boba) at the bottom of the glass

Add ice (if having iced tea)

Add the freshly brewed (or previously chilled) black tea

Add optional sweetener, syrup and the milk or sweet creamer

Add more ice, if you want

Adjust flavors, as needed
