Scrap wood pieces. Let’s build a rustic tray!
1
Cut the scrap wood to size. Two for the base and two for the sides. I used my chop saw.
2
I sanded the edges to smooth. This adds a worn rustic look.
3
Let’s build the tray. Flip the tray upside down and line up the wood.
4
Screw from the bottom to attach the four pieces of wood.
5
Stain the wood tray. I used Ebony. Wipe on and allow to dry.
6
This stain shows amazing wood grain.
7
Dry and stained. Top and bottom. Let’s decorate the tray.
8
This is a transfer. You apply by burnishing down with a wood tool. I cut it up and use parts.
9
Remove the backing. Place gently. Rub down with the tool to adhere to the wood.
10
When the transfer is added remove the backing. So pretty!
11
Seal your tray. I used Satin Clear Coat from Dixie Belle. The Blue sponge is also from Dixie Belle.
12
I attached vintage hardware to both sides of the tray. Screwing down into the wood.
13
Such a great accent piece with a rustic vibe.
