Chicago Neighborhood Guide: West Ridge
Located on the far north end of Chicago, Devon Ave is the heart of Indian & Pakistani communities.
This walking tour of West Ridge is about 1/2 mile long.
Take a Red Line train to Loyola. Walk 1 min to Sheridan & Loyola Sts. Take bus #155 to Western Ave.
Tour the range of restaurants, grocery & retail stores on Devon Ave., dubbed "Little India".
The Middle Eastern cuisines are plentiful and a great place to get your chili or chutney fix!
Continue east & shop the many boutiques for crafted attire and jewelry (great for gifting).
You'll find Indian home decor, housewares, & more. Get some chic pillows for your bedroom or sofa😉
It's beauty time! Deeba Salon offers henna applications (kids love it) & perfect eyebrow threading.
At this rather festive corner, we'll make a stop for refreshments at Annapurna.
You simply can't visit Little India without a mango lassi.
Continue east to the Kamdar Plaza. It's a great place for authentic ingredients, incense, ...
...imported teas, and food to go! I highly recommend the samosas and aloo tikki. 😍
When you reach California Ave., head back towards Western Ave. and explore some more!
