Colorful Furniture Painting
Before. Brown table. I removed the hardware and filled the holes with Mud from Dixie Belle.
1
Clean well with White Lightning. Rinse with water.
2
Let’s start with a base of Whitecap Silk All In One paint. This will control any possible bleed though.
3
One even coat with a dry brush.
4
Waiting two hours between coats of paint for it to dry. Apply the second coat of Whitecap. This will also be the base for stripes.
5
Let’s fix up the drawer. Sand the dry Mud with sand paper. This will give you a smooth area to paint on.
6
This drawer will be a accent piece. Let’s paint two even coats of Holy Guacamole paint.
7
Using Apricot by Dixie Belle I started to accent the table with color. Applied to the legs on the raised areas.
8
Let’s add some Dixie Belle Blue! Applied with a flat medium brush.
9
Gemstone mousse is a water based product. Stir well before application. I accented the raised bands on the legs. Highly pigmented shine!
10
Blueberry is next! Apply to the legs.
11
A touch more Gemstone Mousse! And some Holy Guacamole to the top of the legs.
12
Tape off the areas for Caviar Stripes! Paint in the striped detail!
13
Let’s add cheetah spots. Using Dixie Belle Blue on top of the Apricot. Dots for the base and caviar for the spots.
14
Adding Caviar to create the edges on the spots.
15
So cute! Add some Plum Crazy to the edges.
16
Let’s try some new decoupage paper from the Belle’s & Whistles line! Measure and cut to size. This paper is called “Blue Sketched Flowers”
17
Using Satin Clear coat apply to the area. Press down the paper. Using a brush to smooth the clear coat on top. This is rice paper. Easy to use!
18
Painters tape the stripes for the base! More Dixie Belle Blue!
19
And diamonds for the top!
20
I cut up some napkin butterflies for decoupage to add to the table.
21
Using Satin Clear coat I applied each one to the table.
22
As many butterflies as you like.
23
I added a Silkscreen stencil (patterns) to the drawer front with Moonshine Metallics in Gold Digger. From the Patterns Package.
24
Added some best dang wax in black to the edges!
25
And Plum Crazy accented in Lucky Lavender dots from Patterns to the front. I use a foam sponge to apply color to the stencil.
26
A touch of shine from some Gold Gilding Wax.
27
She’s bright and cheerful! What a beautiful makeover.
