Continuous Line Drawing-surreal Faces
I use a pen and keep my drawing loose and flowing. I try not to pick up my pen!
1
I connect faces together using different size, perspectives, and unexpected placements.
2
Because I’m not lifting my pen, my line work will have a bold, loose style.
3
Include structured and recognizable imagery to your piece to create space and grounding.
4
Turn the paper and draw from different perspectives. More imagery will emerge.
5
See what happens when you work at different speeds. This has a huge impact on how the lines look.
6
Sometimes I draw random squiggly lines and find faces and shapes within that to accentuate.
7
I move around my piece and add details, shading, and small elements to make my piece cohesive.
8
Drawing flowing lines, hatching, and textured can enhance the piece as well.
9
A drawing has limitless potential. See what strange creatures you can create.
10
Continue to add details, shadows, faces, and designs until you are happy with the piece.
11
This is a great exercise to get your creativity flowing. You might be surprised at how fun this is.
