Copper And Concrete Bench
DIY Concrete and Copper Bench
What you'll need
White Concrete Mix
Sheets Of Melamine
3/4” Copper Couplings
3/4” Copper Pipe
2” Hot Glue Stick
Black Caulking
We have to get the copper couplings cleanly embedded into the concrete...
Set your table saw to the length of two copper couplings.
1
Use that distance to cut pieces of Melamine to make your molds.
2
Measure 3” from the top to space out your couplings evenly. Dribble hot glue into each coupling.
3
Glue in cut pieces of melamine to finish your mold, using hot glue to secure.
4
Use black silicone caulk to seal the inside edges. Clean edges with the fondant tool.
5
Place 3/4” copper pipe in the couplings and put the second coupling on top of the first ones.
6
Scoop out your white Quikrete concrete into a large bucket.
7
Mix your concrete thoroughly.
Pour concrete into your mold. Be sure to vibrate the mold to get it in all the corners.
8
Let the concrete cure for 48 hours. Then you can remove your mold and take out your copper couplings
9
Remove the final couplings from the concrete.
10
Cut 3/4” copper pipe to length. Clean pieces with steel wool to turn them a nice rose gold color.
11
Shove your copper pipes into each end.
12
Enjoy your new bench!
