Whisk flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and 1 tsp. salt

Whisk together grated corn, eggs, buttermilk, and ½ cup melted butter to combine

Along with the vanilla

Add dry ingredients to wet and stir until just combined

Pour batter into preheated waffle iron in 1/4-1/3 cup measures

Cook waffles until golden brown and cooked through, approx 5–7 min

Then enjoy - we had ours with caramelized apples but these are good with just about anything.

You can also enjoy these savoury with eggs or even for dunking them into your chili

To make them savoury you can leave the recipe as is or you can omit the sugar and vanilla

They are crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside
