Watch a sneak peek at today’s project!
1
Fold a piece of paper diagonally to create the beginning of your quilt square.
2
Cut the extra section of paper off to make your square!
3
Using colored paper, start cutting different “crazy” shapes that have at least three sides each.
4
I used three different colors. You can pick as many colors as you like.
5
After cutting your different shapes, start arranging them across your quilt square.
6
Make sure some of your shape touch all four sides of your paper before gluing them down.
7
Using a dark marker, draw “stitches”🪡 around all of your shapes to make them look like patches sewn on your quilt square. 🪡
8
With a ruler, draw different lines to connect the different shapes in your “crazy quilt” square.
9
I connect all of my shape “corners.” You can draw lines anywhere, as long as the white background is getting split into more shapes.
10
Fill all the empty white spaces with as many patterns as you can!
11
Here are some more example patterns!
Finally, add more color using whatever tools you have! 🖍🎨🖊✏️
