Thrifted canvas! Let’s paint it and decorate with Hokus Pokus transfers!
1
Paint the entire canvas and frame in Caviar by Dixie Belle.
2
I wanted to fade the middle. I added Fluff. Blended together.
3
Trace a sugar skull. This was from the dollar store. I used it as a stencil.
4
Paint in Fluff to create a skull.
5
See my plate? That’s the inspo for this mixed media project.
6
I added the details on the sugar skull. Painted them in Caviar.
7
Use what you have to create circles. This was a bottle cap and a couple of heart shapes.
8
Fill in the details. Use as many colors from Dixie Belle as you like!
9
I used a glue stick to dab on colors and circles.
10
Create what your heart desires!
11
Let’s add some flowers! This is a decor transfer from Hokus Pokus. It’s called Baroque.
12
Seal your piece with a satin clear coat. This helps the transfer adhere.
13
Hokus Pokus Decor transfers are burnished down onto the surface.
14
Cut up the pieces you would like to use and apply to the canvas.
15
Add some shine with Gold Gilding wax. You can apply with a brush or your finger.
16
Sugar Skull mixed media art is complete! What a gorgeous piece of art for Day Of The Dead!
