Pit and half dates. Add 1.5-2 cups of dates to pot with 1/2 cup of water and 1 tbsp brown sugar.

Cook over med-low heat. Stir occasionally. When bubbly, turn heat to low. When pasty, turn off heat.

In a large mixing bowl, add 1 cup oatmeal, 3/4 cup flour, 1/2 cup soft butter & brown sugar, 1/4 cup canola oil. Stir to combine.

Line 2L baking dish with parchment paper or spray with oil. Press ~2/3 of the dough into the bottom of the dish.

Spread the date paste onto the dough.

Crumble small pieces of the remaining dough on top of the date paste.

Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes.

Allow to cool. Cut & Enjoy!
