Dawali (stuffed Grape Leaves)
1 Jar Grape Leaves
Sauce: 1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil 1 Cube Maggi Bouillon 1 Tsp Salt 1 Tsp Citric Acid 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
Filling: 1.5 Cups Egyptian Rice (soaked 30 Mins) 9oz. Ground Beef 1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
Filling: 1.5 Tbsp 7 Spice 1 Tsp Salt 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
In a bowl, combine all of the filling ingredients . Mix well with your hands

Lay leaves flat, vein side up. Place about 1 tsp filling into center & roll folding in sides first

Split any big leaves down the middle and roll same way

Make sure it’s not too firm/too loose. Should be tightly wrapped but loose enough for rice to expand

Lay out and roll multiple leaves at once to save time

Using a pressure cooker, begin assembling in layers. Make sure the seam is facing down

Add oil, salt, citric acid, black pepper, & maggi cube

Fill to top with warm water

Place two plates on top and press down. Pour warm water to top of plates

Lock pressure cooker & cook on medium low

Once you hear the whistle, lower heat & cook for 45 mins. If using a pot, cook on low for 1.5-2 hrs

Remove plates & serve with lemon slices & yogurt
