DIY Felt Play Food: Multi Grain Crackers
Cut two 2” circles of tan felt.
Split black 6 strand embroidery floss in half.
Thread your needle and knot the end.
Add small black stitches throughout one circle, mimicking poppy seeds, then tie off at the back.
Add small stitches in a couple more colors. I used a pale yellow and light tan.
Using a whip stitch, start sewing the two circles together.
Leave a small opening large enough to stuff your cracker.
For a kid’s play set, fill with poly-fil stuffing. For a cat toy, fill with catnip. Then sew up the opening!
Add one stitch in the middle of your cracker. Pull the ends tight and tie off 3 times in the back, then trim ends.
Repeat that stitch 5-7 times.
Add more fun felt food to complete your set!
Tip: if you made cat toys store them in a Ziploc while not in use to prolong the catnip scent.
Disclaimer: swallowing small strings can be dangerous for cats. Always monitor their play time and put away toys when not in use.
