DIY Flax Seed Gel for Natural Hair
Start by pouring 2 cups of water into a small sauce pot and bring to a boil.
Add 4 tablespoons of brown flax seeds (whole, not ground) and continue to boil. Stir frequently.
You will know when the gel is done when it is the consistency of raw egg whites.
Remove pot from heat. Add 1/2 to 1 tablespoons of your favorite oil. (optional)
Place a strainer over a bowl or measuring cup. Pour mixture into the strainer.
Use a spoon to help move gel through the strainer. You should end up with about 1-2 cups of gel.
You can use these same flax seeds to make another batch. Just pour the seeds into a glass container and store in the refrigerator.
Once cooled, pour your flax seed gel into a container and store in the refrigerator. The gel will last refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
This 3 ingredient all natural gel doesn't flake, gives your hair a good hold, won't make hair crunchy, and it costs less than a dollar to make.
