Use 12 x 6 inches marble pieces. Sketch out a design where excess water can drain into the sink.
1
Use a tile saw to cut marble tiles in half.
2
Move the fence 3/4” of an inch to make the second cut on the other marble piece.
3
Make a series of 1/2” inch partial cuts into the marble tile to make drainage hole .
4
Use aluminum angle sections to reinforce the connections. Cut slowly with a compound miter saw.
5
Glue the aluminum angle sections to the marble tiles with Gorilla Clear Construction Adhesive.
6
Let the glue cure for 24hrs & scrape away the excess glue.
7
Glue in the other marble pieces. Use clamps to hold tiles together.
8
Remove clamps & place scrap marble piece to fill the gap in the bottom. Use chopstick to seal inside
9
Cut metal screen and place it where the drainage hole is to prevent gravel to go out.
10
Use silicone to seal the inside of the planter & carve grooves where drainage hole is.
11
Sand the planter for a soft matte finish.
12
