DIY Sofa with Shelves | A 3-Tool Project
Use circular saw to cut 2x8s for the sofa seat. Cut 2x4s for the back, arms, & spacers.
1
Use Random Orbit Sander to sand the pieces. Apply one coat of polycrylic.
2
Start with two arm pieces and back piece laid across on top of them.
3
Alternate the pattern 2 in the front 1 in the back and the next row 1 in the front 2 in the back.
4
Once you reach the 3rd layer, lay the seat of the sofa. Evenly distribute the middle pieces.
5
Use construction adhesive for the arm pieces. Add 2 more layers to the back to finish the build.
6
Make removable shelves by screwing 1x3s to the underside of some scraps of 2x6s & 2x8s.
