Let’s make a travel movie screen to take with you anywhere!
Wrap the ends of your dowels in plastic/saran wrap and coat with oil.
1
Insert the dowel in the center of your plastic pail & add tape for support.
2
Add concrete mix to a separate bucket and add water according to the package. Mix well.
3
Scoop & pour the concrete inside.
4
Once both pails are filled, use an electric sander (without sandpaper) to vibrate out air bubbles.
5
Remove dowels after 2-4 hours, but allow concrete to cure according to package instructions.
6
Remove concrete base from plastic.
7
Sand down any rough edges, if desired.
8
Now you have a solid concrete base for your stand. Time to paint!
9
I went for a confetti/terrazzo-ish look and added moss to the top.
10
To create your screen, cut fabric to desired size (not too large) and hem the edges...
11
Then wrap the fabric around the dowels & staple in place. It’ll roll up like a scroll for travel!
12
Set up your projector, grab some popcorn and wait for the sun to set!
