Start by making your turner arm. I use foam dice that I have attached to pvc piping. Take a strip of velcro and measure around your foam then cut.
1
Cut two pieces of velcro then wrap the strips tightly around your foam piece. You can use any foam as long as it is firm.
2
Cut two strips of velcro to wrap around your sticks. Make sure the opposite side of velcro is facing out so the two parts stick together. Set aside.
3
Grab your PaperMate Gel InkJoy pens and let’s get started with the fun part!
4
Take the pen apart by unscrewing the tip. Set all your insides in a safe place so you don’t lose them.
5
Lift up and twist the clip to break it off.
6
Use a coarse sanding block or dremel and sand down the entire pen. Make sure you get the tips sanded down really well.
7
Don’t leave your tip looking like this. Keep sanding until it is smooth. This will help your resin adhere better.
8
Place your pen on a 1/4 inch dowel rod, reusable straw or even a standard #2 pencil and spray paint the entire pen.
9
Once your spray paint is dry start mixing a small amount of Fast Set. I mixed 2ml each part and was able to glitter 5 pens.
10
Apply a thin layer of resin to your pen with a gloved finger. Careful along the tips. You can add vasoline to your stick before placing your pen on it
11
Sprinkle the glitter on the pen. Gently tap any excess off and let cure. I use the hang method when glittering.
12
Once your glitter layer is cured add it to your foam piece and cover with a thin layer of resin. Here is a close up of the attachment. Let cure.
13
Mix a small amount of Artist Resin and mix in Nice N Thick till you get a thick consistency. You don’t want your resin to run down the side of the cup
14
Once you have reached the consistency you want add your dispersion color to tint the resin.
15
Using your mixing stick spread a small amount of your resin around the rim of your pen.
16
You can check out this video for detailed information on mixing the Nice N Thick.
17
Since this is such a small drip I cut my sprinkles in half to make them fit better.
18
Place the sprinkles using a set of crafting tweezers. Gently press them down after placing. Let cure for 4-6 hours.
19
Once your drip is cured add a top coat to keep your sprinkles in place. Make sure your velcro strips line up to hold the pen while spinning.
20
After your resin is cured you can put the pen back together and it’s ready to use!
