Measure your board exactly- should be about 36” long x 18” in between each piece of trim

Cut to exact lengths: we had two 36 1/8” pieces and two 19 1/8” pieces

Sand down the edges and surface of your trim

Using gloves and a dropcloth, apply your conditioner (don’t forget the edges), let dry

Lightly apply your stain, wiping off any excess, add extra coats until desired darkness, let dry

Clean off the chalkboard and under-trim surfaces

Apply liquid nails at each corner of trim, as well as along the middle

Carefully line up the edges of your two longest pieces and press them down slowly

If you want it to dry faster, you can place the trim down, lift it up, and then replace it again

Put some heavy weights all around the trim and leave for 24 hours
