Easy Beer Braised Pork Carnitas
Cut pork into 2-3 inch pieces

Pork shoulder or pork butt is the ideal cut

Place pork in large braising pan (instant pot & slow cooker directions included in post)

Place spices over top along with garlic, chopped chili, onion,

Then toss well

Place bay leaves in pot along with orange wedges

Pour over beer

2 cups of your choice - could be your favorite Mexican one or any other

Cover and braise until fork tender - checking halfway and basting

Once done the initial braising remove lid

Toss pieces around to cover them with the oil/pan juices

Place back in the oven to finish off

Look at those golden edges! Remove the pieces onto sheet pan - reserving liquid for serving

Shred - removing any large fatty pieces

they are ready to serve but for extra crispy edges - baste with more liquid & broil or braise for a few more minutes (optional but recommended)

Perfect served in tacos, burritos, enchiladas, over nachos, or over rice and beans
