Embroider A Custom Hat
Use a piece of interface to make a stencil. Plan out the design and go over it with a dark marker.
Trace your design—we’re using a water soluble interface to make it easier to remove later.
Use pins to hold your interface. This hat has enough structure to not need an embroidery hoop.
We want fine lines, so we are embroidering with just two strands of a normal six strand skein.
Stitch your words using a chain stitch...
Insert your needle in the same place, leaving a loop that you will then catch with the next stitch.
Keep on stitching!
Remove pins and cut away extra interface.
Rinse away your interface, pat excess water with a towel, and let fully dry.
Adjust and enjoy!
