Exploring Chimney Rock State Park, NC
There is an entrance charge for the park and it’s currently $17/person. You can either take the shuttle to the top or take the Four Seasons Trail.
I recommend the Four Seasons Trail for beautiful forest views. When you hit the Hickory Nut Falls Trail head right to the base of the falls.
Be prepared for lots of stairs all throughout the park but especially towards the Chimney.
Hickory Nut Falls is 404 ft tall and a great photo spot. There are multiple places to hang out at the base but it can get crowded.
There are many platforms at the park with plenty of seating throughout. They also have a restaurant at the top, Sky Lounge Deli.
The view of Chimney Rock is only part of the experience!
Climb the stairs to the top of Chimney Rock to find this view of Lake Lure.
A little ways up the Skyline Trail you’ll find this overlook built in to the mountainside.
Here you can barely see Hickory Nut Falls on the right, this view is from the patio of Burntshirt Vineyard. Stop by for drinks and small plates!
Hickory Nut Gorge Brewery is another spot just outside the park with a great patio and drinks.
