Frida Kahlo was a 🇲🇽 Mexican painter best known for her portraits, self-portraits & works inspired by nature and artifacts of Mexico.
Kahlo loved animals & had many pets including monkeys 🐒🐒, a parrot 🦜, dogs 🐕 🐕 🐕, an eagle 🦅, a black cat 🐈‍⬛ & a baby deer 🦌!
Today’s project is inspired by Frida Kahlo’s parrot 🦜 named “Bonito.”

Carefully sketch the main body of the parrot.🦜

Next, add curving horizontal lines for a large tree branch below the bird.

Draw a tail for Bonito that peeks out from under the branch.

Then, add a bird beak!

Draw multiple circles for Bonito’s eye.

Now, draw an upside down teardrop shape for the parrot 🦜 wing.

Extend it with a feather 🪶 tip before erasing some of the hidden lines that you don’t need.

Then, add more feather 🪶 texture to the parrot wing.

Then, draw 4 short, curving lines to start Bonito’s claw feet.

Add 4 more curving lines to & pointy claw tips to the feet.

Draw in different branches with leaves 🍃 around for Bonito’s habitat.

Carefully trace over everything in black marker.
