Glitter A Recycled Desk Top
Ikea was sold out of desk so we are recycling one we’ve had since 2010.
1
There were some wet stains that had puckered the MDF
2
Set the desk top on a leveled surface, clean and tap off using 2” painters tape leaving a lip
3
Check again to make sure its leveled as you can get it.
4
Choose your glitter.
5
I chose Hey Tiffany from Glitter Done, Secret Garden from Mr Nolas and Robin Egg from Sass & Crafts
6
Mix your Epoxy. I used Pro Marine
7
I used 7oz cups and I did 4 cups of part A and 4 cups of part B for a total of 56oz
8
Add in your glitter. I added about 5 oz of glitter. In hindsight I would’ve done 6-7ozs. Mix well
9
Look how pretty 😍
10
Pour the glitter/epoxy mix onto the center of the table
11
Spread out using a spatula or stick making sure to get good even coverage
12
Torch your bubbles using a quick sweeping motion being sure not to stay in one place too long.
13
Soo pretty. The pictures don't do it justice!!!
14
Looky 👀😍
15
After about 6 hours remove the tape and allow to cure overnight.
16
Sand. I used 220 grit paper. My edges we're slightly raised from splatters against the tape.
17
Nice and smooth
18
Wipe off the dust with a towel or cloth
19
Wipe down with 91% Alcohol
20
Mix another 42oz of Epoxy
22
Watch the pour
23
Spread to the ends.
24
Light them bubbles up. Remove the tape after 2 hours and let cure.
25
Inspect edged and sand if necessary. Clean with alcohol.
26
Allow to cure for 24-72 hours before sitting anything heavy on top.
27
Look how beautiful. I think it turned out great!
28
Decorate and enjoy!!!
29
My daughter is ready for E-Learning!!!! 👍🏽
