A rhizome is the underground stem of a bamboo plant
Locate the node and roots on your rhizome. The node is where the bamboo shoots grow!
1
Fill your pot with a well draining soil
2
Plant your rhizome with the node facing UP and the roots facing DOWN or to the side
3
Add soil to bury the rhizome and roots
4
Cover your rhizome completely with soil, with the nodes peaking out the top
Water and put in a warm area with bright indirect light
5
These are the shoots after 9 days!
Keep your plant moist but not soggy so the roots do not rot
6
This was the bamboo after less than 3 weeks!
Enjoy your new bamboo plant! This was my plant after 6 weeks of growth indoors
