You’ll need vanilla beans, glycerin, empty bottle(s), pairing knife, and cutting board.

These vanilla beans are thick! I used two beans and doubled the recipe.

Slit the beans lengthwise to expose the seeds

Scrape the seeds with the blunt side of the knife

Collect all that goodness into the jar/bottle

Add glycerin and water to the seeds (make sure to weigh your glycerin and water)

I added another bean and another batch of glycerin and water. Add the slit beans to the jar too.

And done! Now, we wait for the flavors to develop!

This is my previous batch I made last year. I refilled it with more glycerin.
