Mix white & yellow for the bottom and use light blue, paint the remaining upper section of the canvas.

Add watery blue/red paint dots and then blow over dots with a straw. Fill the entire sky. Scratch with opposite end of brush for texture.

Paint the bottom of a cupcake white and then fill the frosting in with light pink paint.

Using a darker pink, create shadows and curves in the frosting.

Fill the entire hat with white to make it easier to add color next. Some of these shapes need 2 coats of paint. Add a second layer when first is dry.

Paint a party hat white, Using a small brush add fringe on the bottom of the hat. The more lines the better. The lines are painted in all directions.

Using white and blue, paint in the light blue hat.

I mixed yellow and white to create a baby yellow to paint triangular designs on the paper of the cupcake.

Fill it entirely in and then add blue next.

Vary the size of dots and add white circles to the party hat.

Add white highlights to all the fringe on the party hat.

Using a detail brush and black, I painted the sparklers next. Making them thicker on the tops.

Add a stem to finish the cherry.

Write β€œ4th” on the party hat to celebrate the Fourth of July.

While the black sparklers were still wet, I added white to make them silver/gray. I think silver glitter would be fun too.
