6 Hikes To Try In Bozeman, Montana
Palisade Falls Trail near Hyalite Canyon. This is a short 1 mile, paved trail that leads to this waterfall.
You can even visit in winter and see Palisade Falls completely frozen over!
Hyalite Creek Trail. This takes you to Hyalite Lake and is a bit longer than the rest listed here, but so so pretty.
Blackmoor Lake Trail. This is a fairly easy trail and leads to a scenic lake! It’s pretty heavily trafficked, so you’ll likely see other people
The “M” trail. This leads to the big white M you’ll see in the mountain side for the university. Hint: it’s made of white painted rocks!
Drinking Horse Mountain Trail. This was one of my favorites in town. It’s close to the trailhead for the M trail, but has better views.
Painted Hills Trail. This was the first hike we ever did in Bozeman and is relatively flat.
You might see cows along this route! They scare me sometimes, but they’re harmless. Just don’t bother them!
