10 Hiking Tips For Your Glacier National Park Trip
Go early in the morning—the park fills up fast!
1
Don’t approach animals—even if they’re cute like this little guy!
2
Know which trails are popular. Avalanche Lake’s parking lot is often full and you might not be able to hike it.
3
Bring your camera, but know that drones aren’t allowed in the park without a permit.
4
Sunscreen and a hat are a must! Since you’re so high up in the mountains, you are more likely to get burned!
5
The altitude can be a lot! Take your time and stop often for water.
6
Watch out for bears and always carry bear spray! You can even get it at the airport!
7
Be mindful of others on the trail and let them pass if they are moving at a faster pace.
8
If you’re going during shoulder season, grab an extra layer since there might be snow.
9
Leave no trace! Pick up your trash and don’t go off the trail.
