Homemade Pretzel Rolls
Lets make them super soft homemade pretzel rolls with buttery salty crust together. Follow my easy step-by-step photos to make your own buns.

Heat the milk and butter in microwave for 30 seconds. The butter will not be completely melted which is what we want.

Add brown sugar and yeast into the milk mixture, mixing to combine.

Now add in 2 cups of flour, using a electric hand mixer to combine. Gradually add the remaining cup of flour in, stirring with a spoon.

Place dough on floured surface (like your counter top) and knead, forming into a ball. Grease a bowl and add the dough ball into it.

Allow to rise until doubled in size. (This always makes me happy to see!)

Rip the dough into eight pieces, this recipe will make eight rolls.

Form into balls (mine are never close to perfect).

It's time for the baking soda bath. This is a important step in making pretzels as it gives pretzels that glossy crust and distinctive taste.

Bring to a boil 12 cups of water with 3/4 cup baking soda, add the dough balls for 1 minute and then remove with a slotted spoon.

Place rolls on baking sheet and cut an X into each one with a sharp knife.

Now brush some butter on top, and sprinkle coarse sea salt.

Baked for 20 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.
