Homemade Yogurt In The Quick Cooker
1 container Fairlife milk (whole or 2% work best). You will need 2T of yogurt as a starter.
1
Add one container of Fairlife milk, needs to be Fairlife or ULTRA pasteurized, this is NOT optional for the cold start method!
2
Add 2 Tablespoons of greek yogurt. Freshest is best.
3
Vanilla option: add 1 small container of Natural Bliss Sweet Cream or Vanilla. If you want plain, omit this.
4
Vanilla option only: pour in a dash of vanilla, if not just omit.
5
Whisk together to incorporate.
6
Place glass lid on top of pot. This setting will not come to pressure.
7
Set Quick Cooker to Proof setting 8 total hours.
8
This is what it looks like when it finished! Nice and creamy.
9
I like to use this yogurt strainer (found on Amazon) to make it thick (Greek style).
10
I put in the fridge overnight, and this is how much whey (the liquid) comes out.
11
I take the strained yogurt and place it on the lid and quickly invert it, it looks like a bundt cake.
12
Mix to smooth it out. Sometimes we will even use a handheld mixer. If it's too thick, add whey back in a little at a time to desired consistency.
13
I store in the 1 cup prep bowls so it's ready to grab and go.
14
Enjoy plain or with your favorite toppings. It's great in smoothies too!
