Hot Apple Cider With Shrunken Apple Skulls
Gather your apples, cider, spices and tools.

You'll need your slow cooker too.

Cut up 2 lemons

And juice them into a small bowl.

Peel your apples.

And remove the cores.

Slice the apples in half.

Carve a face using the core and more and pairing knife. Dip each apple in lemon juice.

Place on a paper towel or tea towel to dry.

Use whole cloves for the eyes or nose if you like.

Place on parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 250°F for 1.5 hours or until apples begin to brown.

Peel the rind from an orange and put it with a couple cinnamon sticks in a cheesecloth sachet

Tie with kitchen twine. Place in slow cooker and fill with apple cider. Add maple syrup.

When ready to serve, stir in remaining lemon juice, whiskey or bourbon, and apple heads.
