How To Cook A Turkey In A Roaster Oven

Remove rack and preheat to the highest setting on your roaster

Determine the total cook time = # of pounds X 15 minutes

Remove package. Do not rinse.

Untuck legs, remove innards from both ends of the turkey.

Place turkey on the rack, handles facing up

3 onions, 20 baby carrots, 2 celery, 1 Tb salt & butter, 1/2 Tb pepper, 1 tsp poultry seasoning

Insert half veggie mixture inside turkey and tuck the legs

Spread 2 Tb butter

2 tsp kosher salt & 1 tsp pepper

Add to roaster with remaining veggies. Cook for 30 minutes on the highest temperature

Reduce to 325 for remaining time needed. Do NOT lift the lid

Turkey is done once thighs are 175° and breasts are 165 °

Let rest 20-30 minutes before carving
