How To Crochet Foundation Single Crochet (fsc)
A foundation single crochet (fsc) row can be worked in place of any "base chain + row of single crochet sts." And it's really stretchy!
Insert hook through 2 loops of first chain and pull up a loop. [2 loops on hook]
2
Ch 1. This chain replaces the one you would make if you started with a regular base chain.
3
Yarn over and pull through both loops. First foundation single crochet (fsc) made.
4
Insert hook into the "extra" ch 1 made in Step 3. Pull up a loop.
5
Yarn over and pull through both loops. Second fsc made.
7
Repeat for the third fsc.
8
Continue to work fsc stitches until your foundation row is the required length.
