Join to form a circle (careful not to twist the chain!)
2
Insert hook into join ch. Do not yarn over, instead YARN UNDER and complete the first crossed single crochet (xsc).
3
Continue to work xsc stitches all the way around the chain.
4
At the end of the round, do not join. Begin Round 2 with a xsc in the first stitch.
5
Use a stitch marker to keep track of the first xsc.
6
Continue to work xsc stitches all the way around.
7
Again, do not join. Begin Round 3 and move stitch marker to first stitch.
8
Work in continuous rounds until you have 16 rounds.
9
Your “tube” should be pretty close to a perfect square!
10
Slip stitch to join to beg stitch. Cut yarn and fasten off.
11
Turn inside out and seam bottom edge.
12
Turn pouch the right way around. You can now fill it with dried lavender (or try rice with a few drops of essential oil!).
13
Once filled, fold the top edges together in the OPPOSITE direction to the bottom seam.
14
Seam the top edges to close the pouch.
15
Optional: Add a ribbon just before you finish seaming. I worked a double seam to finish off with a cross stitch effect along the top.
