Let’s do a scarf joint!
1
I want to show you what one looks like done before I share how to make one.
2
I’ve found two reasons to do scarf joints... a wall over 12’ or it you have uneven floors.
3
This wall is longer than 12’ so it needs a scarf joint.
4
Set your miter saw at 45 and cut.
5
To do this: you cut the left side of your right board and the right side of the left board.
6
Leave your saw at the same angle. Once you cut both, this is what it will look like.
7
There’s the scarf! To measure: you measure from the tip of the scarf to the wall.
8
Nail in! Wood fill and then paint!
