How To Decorate Beach Sugar Cookies
Prep the Royal icing and cookie dough along with 1 cup finely crushed Graham cracker crumbs or cheerio crumbs.
1
Pinch the seam of the piping bag and cut a very small tip. Grab the circular cookie. Outline the water portion of the beach cookie.
2
Flood the inside with icing and use a cookie scribe to fill in any holes. Be careful not to flood with too much icing.
3
After each cookie wipe the tip clean with a paper towel along with the cookie scribe.
4
Repeat with the remaining cookies and let them dry completely.
5
If the icing spills outside of your flood use your scribe to scrape off excess.
When the blue is dry you can proceed to pipe and flood the tan portion to resemble the beach. Use the tan Royal icing.
6
Outline and flood. Work in batches of 3 at a time. Use the scribe to fill in any holes.
7
Quickly top with very fine graham cracker crumbs or cheerio crumbs to resemble the sand. Press in slightly.
8
Repeat with the remaining cookies.
9
After all the cookies are done let them dry completely. About 1 hour.
10
To form waves pipe small dots along the ocean and beach border. You can also do a couple inside the ocean space.
11
Take a small paint brush and brush the dots in a small downward motion to resemble waves.
12
Repeat with the remaining cookies.
13
You can add an intertube in the ocean if desired. Or do a crab in the sand.
14
Sprinkle the white parts with white sugar or sprinkles. Let dry completely.
