Finish a row and prepare to begin next row.

Turn your work. Do not chain. Insert hook into first stitch. Complete a single crochet stitch.

Make another single crochet stacked on top of the first stitch. Insert hook underneath the two strands at the side of the first single crochet.

Pull up a loop and finish the single crochet. Two stitches stacked. Stacked double crochet created.

Continue working the row. Using the stacked double crochet reduces the gap.
