How To Draw 3 Flowers with Watercolor Backgrounds
Gather your supplies.
Think about flowers that you see around you that you might like to draw. For this tutorial, we'll draw three that I like. A daisy.
Start with the petals. There are so many petals. Vary thick and thin strokes with your calligraphy pen.
1
Queen Anne's Lace (even weeds are flowers).
Draw lots of stems to hold all of those tiny flowers. The flowers are made of dots and squiggles.
2
Poppy petals are so dainty. Draw them wide open.
3
Think about the colors you want to use for your backgrounds. They don't have to be the colors of the actual flowers. Test a few.
4
Think about background shapes you like. Try some to see how they feel.
I like the straight sides today. We'll paint blue first. Leave the top and bottom uneven.
5
Now for some green. This one will have a flat bottom and stay shorter than the others.
6
And finally a deep coral color. Remember, you can tap in more color as long as it's still wet.
7
And you're finished! Now you can try other shapes and colors.
