How To Embroider The Chain (or Lazy Daisy) Stitch
Come up from the back of your fabric.
1
Go back down in the same hole, holding a loop with your other hand.
2
Come up one stitch length forward, through the loop you made.
3
Here’s one chain stitch all the way through. Make sure your loop doesn’t get twisted.
4
Continue this stitch to make a row that looks like a chain! With practice you won’t need to always hold the loop in your other hand.
5
If a stitch gets a little twisted you can carefully use your needle to fix it.
6
To finish, make one small stitch over your last loop. Knot or weave through your last few stitches in the back.
