Fold and finger press your fabric. Using the template, mark on the WRONG side the centre points
1
Position the foam stabiliser on the WRONG side in the centre of your fabric hexagon. Glue in place.
2
Knot your thread. Take a stitch through the centre from the RIGHT side to the wrong side
3
Take a stitch through the mark on one side. Draw the raw edge to the centre and stitch in place.
4
Turn to next edge and repeat. Secure raw edge in the centre with a few stitches. DO NOT cut thread
5
Squash the “ear” that has formed so the tip is in the centre and finger press the fold lines
6
Using needle, lift and pull back tip of ear to the edge of the hexagon and hold in place with needle
7
Finger press the newly formed “diamond” fold lines
8
Take the needle and place it across the centre of the diamond fold
9
Release the point and fold it over the needle to the centre. Hold in place with finger and thumb
10
Take a few small stitches through the point of the diamond to secure it in the centre of the hexagon
11
Continue folding and stitching on next side to form another diamond fold
12
Continue the process of folding and stitching each side until you have 6 folded points
13
Stitch a button in the centre to cover the raw edges and hide your tacking stitches
14
Follow project instructions in the pattern to make your Tape Measure, Needlebook and Scissor Fob
